Being this our 17th year of celebration, the event usually draws an estimated crowd of 50,000 and grows bigger each and every year. The main purpose of Hollywood Beach Latin Festival, Inc., the non-profit group that produces the festival, is to promote the Hispanic culture in Broward County (300,000+) and represent the fastest growing community in South Florida to :
- Benefit the young with scholarships.
- Give toys to children on Christmas.
- Assist Hispanic single mothers with the down payment to their first home.
Facilities: Showers, restrooms, three playground areas with slides and swings (Charnow, Harry Berry and Keating) with picnic pavilions at Charnow Park and Garfield Street. Nearby one can play paddle ball at the historic Garfield paddle ball courts. The Hollywood Beach Theater at Johnson Street offers entertainment. Adjacent North Beach Park, at Sheridan and A1A, features a 60-foot observation tower, picnic facilities, restrooms and (on the Intracoastal side) shelters and fishing piers.
Lifeguards: Twenty-one lifeguard towers and eight first-aid stations operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day during the summer; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. other times.
Rules: No pets, alcohol or glass containers. No feeding animals or strays, or removing plants. No firearms or fireworks permitted.
